This little bell pepper keeps on coming! We have enjoyed the harvest for over three years and counting. Right now we need to harvest before the local animals decide it is time for their dinner.

Irrigation 2 hp pump test repair setup
The irrigation pump needed new gaskets and seals after 10 years of use. In order to check repair work needed to devise a test setup which consisted of mounting pump on wood base, wiring pump through a test 220 Vac set up to a portable generator. Water was then pumped out of two 25 gallon rain barrels. In order to keep up with the volume of water being pumped out, a second pump connected to the well was filling the rain barrel. Results of test, no leaks. Pump is now in storage as a backup to replace the one currently being used when it fails.
Water from rain barrel was used to water garden. There was in fact a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Cutting & rooting plants
Yesterday-Today-and-Tomorrow is another drought and temperature tolerant plant that one can cut and root as shown. It takes about 2 weeks to get the root. The unique side of this plant though is that it throws its seeds and soon the seedlings come up. What we have been doing is gently digging up seedlings, place in a soil filled pot till a good size root ball is developed. Then place in the ground so as to control just where this plant is growing.
Yard beautification
Dwarf Ruellia is a beautiful purple flowering plant, which is temperature and drought tolerant, and loves sun. The flowers open every morning and close @ dusk. We plant these around the edge of the property, along with our home like park. You do not have to keep buying, as the cuttings will root in a couple of weeks and be ready for their home in the ground.
