Melvina immigrated on Nov.01, 1918, from Montreal to St. Albans,VT-final destination New Litchfield, Torrington, Connecticut-Winthrop St-to join her husband, Joseph Allen. Margueritte Jeanne (Maggie) Allen Northup is Jerry's grandmother. Maggie immigrated from Montreal to St. Albans, Vermont- final destination in Portland, Maine on Mar 23, 1915. Per the manifest she was a single, 18 years old domestic. Her residence in Canada was in St. Agathe. [Full Store]

Jerry's father, Arthur Joseph Lyman Sr. (4/12/1923-21/12/1984) married Marion Ada Hedman when he was around 20. Then there was WWII and he became stationed in N. Carolina and the first son was born in 1944 (Arthur Joseph Lyman Jr.). He was a aircraft engine mechanic while in the Navy, 3/3/1941 - 9/12/1944. After the service he became a sales representative finally selling real-estate in Ct.

Jerry served US Army included South Korea, 1964-1967 and honorable discharged in 1967. Following his Army service, he went to Milwaukee School of Engineering for a BSEE. Jerry joined Motorola in 1971 and stayed with them for 30 yrs. During his career with Motorola, he went on to obtain an MBA and take on International Field Engineering in the communications field.
