Chan Lin Memorial Site

Mr. Chan Lin was an alumnus of Sun Yat-Sen University, and later attended Penn State and Columbia University for postgraduate studies from 1948 through 1951. Afterwards he and his late wife opened their medical practice in the Chinatown of New York city and devoted a lifetime of service to the local Chinese-American population. In the 1980’s and 1990’s Mr. Chan Lin gave generously to the cause of promoting Sino-US friendship and facilitated visits to US by academic and cultural groups from China. Mr. Chan Lin put great emphasis on investing in the education of younger generations in the extended family. He lived simply and modestly, so to apply his resource to sponsoring the family’s young for college. He will always be remembered by those whose lives he touched with generosity and affection.
