Another Story About Uncle

I went to Washington DC to visit Uncle in December, 2009. Annie and Yiaying were both there to take care of uncle and Xigu. Next day afternoon, Yiaying stepped out of uncle's bed room and told me that Uncle wanted to talk to me. So, I walked into Uncle's room. He was in bed and waved his hand to yiaying and indicated that he wanted to have a private conversation with me. As I sat by his bedside uncle said in Mandarin: " I brought all of you here to US to provide you with an opportunity of getting a higher education in hope that you would have better opportunities to be successful. I am always very happy to know each of you are able to work hard and make contributions. Don't worry about me. I am 96 year old now, and I have a long life compared to others in the family. I have nothing to complain about. So, work hard and help each other..." He stopped and looked at me and said very slowly : " OK. That is all. You can go now." I regret that I did not record the conversation. I know Uncle said it to all of us. - 11/20/2010 Almost two years later, when I mentioned the story to CiCi, he indicated that Uncle also said very similar things to him in a conversation. -- 10/21/2012
